Profile
Located in the southern part of Rizal Province, the town of Tanay is bounded on the north by
the city of Antipolo, on the east by Quezon Province, on the south by
Laguna Province, Pililla town, and Laguna Lake, and on the west by the towns
of Teresa, Morong, and Baras. The town is approximately located 55 kilometers
southeast of Manila. It consists of 19 barangays and is part of the second legislative district of Rizal Province.
Except for a narrow lowland on the coast facing Laguna lake, topography consists mostly of high mountains which is part of the
Sierra Madre Mountain Range.
 Municipal building
Most of the people are Tagalogs. Majority of the population are engage either in farming or fishing. The town
is the trading center serving the southeastern part of Rizal Province and the northeastern part of Laguna.
Business Opportunities
Tanay has the potential for agro-industrial development. Investors can establish plantations for high value commercial crops
such as fruits, vegetables, herbal and ornamental plants, coffee, cacao, and bamboo. Manufacturing plants for the production of processed foods,
furniture, garments, and other consumer products can be viable projects.
