Profile

Tagaytay City is located 56 kilometers southwest of Manila on the southern portion of Cavite Province. It is bounded on the north by the towns of Mendez, Indang, Amadeo, and Silang, on the east by Calamba City of Laguna Province, on the south by the Batangas province, and on the west by Alfonso town. The city can be reached in an hour-and-twenty-minute drive from Manila either through Carmona Exit at the South Luzon Expressway or Aguinaldo Highway via Coastal Road. Situated at 2,500 feet above sea level, this third class city enjoys cool and refreshing climate all year round. It has a total land area of 65 square kilometers, most of which are still considered rural. Tagaytay Ridge provides the best views of Taal Lake and Volcano. On a clear day, one can have a view of Manila Bay in the north and Laguna De Bay in the east. Main thoroughfares are the Aguinaldo Highway, Sto. Domingo-Sta. Rosa Road, Laguna via Calamba Road, Batangas via Tuy Road, Cavite via Mendez Road, Amadeo Road, and Mahogany Avenue.

Tagaytay City Hall

Due to its cool climate, Tagaytay rivals Baguio City as a summer destination. In fact, many residents of Metro Manila have chosen to build a vacation home in this city. Just like Baguio, it has also some pine trees and flower gardens. Unlike Baguio however, Tagaytay City is not yet congested. It has still many open spaces but not for long. Residential subdivisions are sprouting everywhere and soon, buildings will have no where to go but up literally. The city is a favorite location for spiritual retreats. Several chapels, convents, seminaries, and meditation centers are found in the city.

Local products for sale

The city celebrate the Araw ng Tagaytay Festival every June 21. Other celebrations include Tagaytay Liberation Day on February 3 and the Character Program Anniversary on April 24.

Business Opportunities

Taking into consideration the vision of the local government to make the city a haven of resorts, retirement, and character-building activities, businesses related to tourism are the best investment to establish. Health Spas, wellness and fitness centers, hospitals, botanical and zoological centers, demonstration farms, world class recreational facilities such as rides, and hotels are some of the projects that are encouraged.
