Profile
Covering a land area of about 54 square kilometer, Santa Rosa City is located on the northwestern part of Laguna
Province. Situated along the South Luzon Expressway and the Philippine National Railroad, the city is only 40 kilometers away
from Manila. It is bounded on the north by the town of Binan, on the east by Laguna De Bay,
on the south by Cabuyao, and on the west by the town of Silang in the province of Cavite.
A highway leads from the city to Cavite province making Santa Rosa the favorite alternative gateway to Tagaytay City.
 Santa Rosa City Hall
Santa Rosa is Laguna's second largest city after Calamba in terms of population. With its population growing at an annual
rate of more than 6% (2000 NSO Census), Santa Rosa has become the fastest growing city in terms of population. This growth is
brought about by continuous migration of people from all over the country seeking job opportunities in its many factories.
Indeed the city has become the prime example of a private sector-led industrialization. It is home to many world class industrial
estate housing world famous manufacturers in the automotive, electronics, chemicals, and food. A litany of such manufacturers
include Toyota, Ford, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Honda, Unilab Pharmaceuticals, Coca-Cola, and Monde-Nissin. With companies like
Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, Amkor-Anam, and Ayala-owned IMI, Santa Rosa could also vie for the title of Silivon Valley of the Philippines.
Recently, the first solar cell fabrication plant in Southeast Asia started operation in this city. with that, acquiring title of
Renewable Energy Capital of the Philippines would not be a mere pipedream of the city.
Shopping and Leisure
Side by side with industrialization, the city withnessed the mushrooming of big commercial complexes.
Manila-based SM Malls, Robinson's, and Waltermart have each put up a branch in the city. There are of course many specialized
shopping centers like those in Balibago and Paseo in Greenfield City. Then there's Sta. Elena Golf Club which was established
as a playground of golf enthusiasts who prefer breathtaking backdrop of natural setting away from the traffic and pollution of a big city.
Business Opportunities
You will never run out of businesses to put up in this city. Aside from industrial plants, business process
outsourcing have already started to make inroads in this city. Schools too have opened satellite branches. Yet, there is still a
need for more specialized training centers for skilled workers. Mass housing projects are needed. To fill in the needs of
more and more people, food establishments, hotels, and maybe classy comedy bars can become profitable ventures.
