Pilar is a 2nd class municipality located on the northwestern part of Sorsogon Province.
It is bounded on the north by the province of Albay, on the east by Castilla, on the south by Ticao Pass, and on the
west by Donsol.
It has a total land area of square kilometers and is politically subdivided into 49 barangays.
