Piddig is a landlocked municipality located at the heart of Ilocos Norte. It is bounded on the north by Vintar,
on the east by Carasi, on the south by Solsona and Dingras, and on the west by Sarrat and Laoag City.
The town has a total land area of 216.20 square kilometers and it is subdivided into 23 barangays. Topography consists of narrow plains
in between hills and mountains.
Piddig is known in Philippine History due to the Basi Revolt against Spain which started in this town
by Pedro Mateo. Basi, or rice wine, is in fact a popular product of Piddig.
