Piat is a 4th class municipality located in southwest Cagayan Province. It is bounded on the
north by Santo Nino, on the east by the towns of Amulung and Solana, on the south by Tuao, and on the west by Tizal Town.
It has a total land area of 139 square kilometers and is politically subdivided into 18 barangays.
The town is situated 528 kilometers north of Manila and 40 kilometers northwest of Tuguegarao City, the provincial capital.
