Naga City is the commercial and cultural center of Camarines Sur Province. It is believed that the
name “Naga” derived its origin from the narra trees which used to be in abundance in the place. Located at the heart of
Bicol Region, its neighbors are the towns of Canaman, Magarao, Pili, Milaor, Gainza, and Camaligan.
The city is 377 kilometers southeast of Manila and around 100 kilometers north of
Legaspi City in Albay province.
It can be reached within 8 hours drive or 40 minutes flight from Manila.
The City of Naga is surrounded on all sides by rich agricultural, forest and fishing areas. It has a total
land area of 84.48 square kilometers and is politically subdivided into 27 barangays.
The city belongs to the second legislative district of Camarines Sur.
Business Opportunities
The city government is promoting Metro Naga as one investment zone.It includes the towns of Calabanga,
Bombon, Magarao, Canaman, Camaligan, Gainza, Milaor. Together, they have a population of about 358 thousand.
This is a sizable market for small and medium enterprises.
As a regional economic center rivalled only by Legaspi City, it offers opportunities in agro-based
industries and tourism. Information Technology is one area that has great potential in the city. It has already 4 studios
involved in animation. A full 5-hectare economic zone is being developed into a hub of the animation industry.
