Profile
Situated at the heart of Metro Manila, Mandaluyong city is bordered on the north by
San Juan City, on the east by Pasig City, on the south by
Makati City across the Pasig River, and on the west by Manila City.
On the northeast lies Quezon
City. On the area where Mandaluyong, Pasig and Quezon City meet is the historic corner of EDSA and Otigas Avenue which is
the site of People Power I and II. The city is home to one of the largest concentration of high rise buildings in Metro Manila.

Mandaluyong City has a total land area of 9.3 square kilometers, one of the smallest in the country. The city is
composed of 27 barangays. The northeast part of the city is the most commercialized, being the location of Ortigas Center, one of
the most prestigious central business districts of Metro Manila. Industrial areas are found east of EDSA and along the shores of
Pasig River. Popular residential subdivisions include North Greenhills, Plainview, and Addition Hills.
Main thoroughfares are EDSA, Shaw Boulevard, Boni Avenue, and Ortigas Avenue. The city is home to the National Center
for Mental Health and the Women's Correctional Institution.
Shopping Centers found in the city include SM Megamall, one of the biggest in the world, Shangrila Plaza,
Robinson's Galleria & Pioneer, and Starmall (formerly Manuela). Wack-Wack Golf and Country Club, one of the most popular in
the country, is found in the city.
Business Opportunities
As the city develops toward full commercialization, industrial activities are being phased out. The area bounded by
Pasig City, Shaw Boulevard, and EDSA is being redeveloped into a central business district. Elsewhere, low rise buildings are gradually
giving way to high-rise structures. This development offers opportunities in service-related businesses such as real estate,
finance, business process outsourcing, trading, hotel, restaurants, and educational activities.
