Kalayaan is a 4th class municipality located at the foot of the Lower Sierra Madre in the eastern corridor
of Laguna Province. It is bounded on the north by the town of Paete,
on the east by Quezon Province, on the south by Lumban, and on the west by Laguna de bay.
The town is situated 109 kilometers southeast of Manila.
It has a total land area of 46 square kilometers and is politically subdivided into 3 barangays.
