Located in the southeastern coast of Negros Island, Dumaguete is the Capital, principal seaport and largest city
of Negros Oriental Province. It is bounded in the north by Sibulan town, on the east by
Bohol Sea, on the south by the town of Bacon, and on the west by Valencia. The city sits on a broad flatland with a
total land area of 33.6 square kilometers. Banica and Bonao Rivers traverse the city center flowing from the western side and drains into Bohol Sea.
The city has an airport and a seaport which is one of the primary stop-over of the western Strong
Republic Nautical Highway. The city is, in fact, is a jump-off point to Dapitan City in the
province of Zamboanga Del Norte in Mindanao Island. It has also a fishport. Main thoroughfares include the Dumaguete North and South Road, Silliman
Avenue, Rizal Boulevard, Hibbard Avenue, and Sta. Catalina Street.
