Considered as the gateway to Isabela, Cordon is located at the southwestern part of Isabela Province, some 320 kilometers
northeast of Manila. It
is bounded on the north by the town of Ramon, on the east by the city of Santiago, on the south by Diffun, Quirino, and on the west by Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya.
Terrain is characterized by a broad plain in the eastern side which is a part of the Cagayan Valley and by hills and mountains on the western side
which is part of the Cordillera Mountain Range. It is accessible by land through the National Road and by air via Cauayan Domestic Airport.
 Cordon Municipal Hall
Cordon has 26 barangays spread in land area of 228.9 square kilometers. Majority of the people are Ilocanos although
a large segment consists of migrants from Ifugao and other provinces. It is classified in terms of income as a 3rd class municipality.
Agriculture is the main economic activity with rice and corn as the primary products. Fishing is an important occupation in Barangays Dallao and Taliktik
which are are located near Magat River.
Business Opportunities
Cordon is strategically located at the boundaries of Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino Provinces. It has the advantage of becoming a logistics
or distribution center. It has areas that are good for the cultivation of high value crops such as malungay, cacao, coffee, pineapple, and sweet corn.
Food processing and the manufacture of furniture, home decors, novelty items, and clothings are industries with a bright prospect in this town. The establishment
of a mountain resort and other tourist facilities is suggested.
