Baras is a 4th class municipality of Rizal Province which is located in the northern shore of Laguna de Bay - the largest
inland body of water in the Philippines. It is bounded on the north and east by the town of Tanay, on the south by Laguna de Bay, and on
the west by Morong Municipality. The town is situated 51 kilometers southeast of Manila. It is subdivided into 10 barangays spread in a total land area of 85 square kilometers.
Considered as the organic capital of the country, the town is home to the Baras Organic Products Center
which was put up by the University of the Philippines Los Banos.
