Balangiga is a 5th class municipality located on the southern coast of Eastern Samar Province.
It is bounded on the north by the town of Llorente, on the east by Quinapondan and Giporlos, on the south by Leyte Gulf,
and on the west by Lawaan.
It has a total land area of square kilometers and is politically subdivided into 13 barangays.
The town is famous as the site of the so-called "Balangiga Massacre" during the early
part of the American occupation of the Philippines.
