Alegria is a 4th class municipality located on the southwestern coast of Cebu Province.
It is bounded on the north by the town of Badian, on the east by Alcoy, on the south by Malabuyoc, and on the west by Tanon Strait.
It has a total land area of 113 square kilometers and is politically subdivided into 9 barangays.
The town is situated 117 kilometers southwest of Cebu City.
