Agusan Del Norte is a province of the Philippines located in the northeastern part of Mindanao
island which is occupied by Caraga Region. It is bounded on the north by Bohol Sea
and Surigao Del Norte, on the east by Surigao Del Sur,
on the south by Agusan Del Sur, and on the west by Misamis Oriental.
Mountains dominate the eastern and western landscape while the central area is part of the vast Agusan Valley drained by the
country's third longest river, the 350-kilometer-long Agusan River. The largest inland water is Lake Mainit in the northeast
whose body of water the province shares with Surigao Del Norte. Mount Hilong-Hilong, found also in the northeast, is the province's tallest mountain
with a height of 1,837 meters. The province has no dry season with very pronounced maximum rainfall from November to January.

Other farm products include palm oil, tubers, and vegetables. The province has a palm oil parocessing plant.
In 2007, there were 36 banks operating in the province with total deposits of 8.3 billion pesos.
Poverty incidence stood at 40%, very high compared to the national average of 32.9%.

Agusan Del Norte offers many opportunities for entrepreneurs. It has forests that can be the source of raw materials for industries such as
furniture and other forest-based industries. It has rivers that can be tapped for power generation and irrigation. It has many tourist attractions
which can be the reasons for putting up tourist facilities. Its agricultural lands can be developed and modernized by establishing
post harvest facilities.
